Dear St Matthew’s Vestry,
Outreach
The soup lunch program is over. Various groups helped out. There is a
thankyou letter on the board
Worship
Looking ahead to Feast Days.
Broadcast a compline service for St. Mark the Evangelist Friday. This is
really the beginning of Rogation and good opportunity to dedicate the
rummage sale.
Community services continue. It would be good to have a helper from
the church at these events.
All Saints may invite us to a join service on May 24.
Planning will begin for the summer BBQ series. This is primarily a
worship event; however, it is one we extend to the community. What a
great service!
On May 9 there will be a rogation service in the townsquare.
On May 10 there will be a drumhead service.
Diocese
There was a flood a the Cathedral.
Renewal of vows service on 2 May.
The Bishop join us for Palm Sunday
Church Growth
I am looking to tie together some ideas together on church growth.
Suffice to say that it is good that we want to grow our church. Growth
isn’t always linear. So starting a program doesn’t = church growth. But
it will help us build relationships and connections, which is a
necessary part of the recipe.
Communication
I will probably roll out new emails this month.
I am making more use of broadcast mediums, youtube, faceobok,
substack. Each has their strength. I think we are in a place where this
wont substitute for relationships, connection, and pastoral visitingIt
still would be good get some help.
